And in a darker timeline...

Anakin lifts Obi-wan and hurls him into the lava. His mentor disappears in an instant, leaving no trace that he ever existed.

At full strength, Vader returns to the ship pad and discovers a dying Padme lying in a heap. He reaches out with the Force and feels his bride dying..but is shocked even more when he feels not one, but two sparks of life growing within her. Twins! He realizes that in his blind rage, he had nearly killed them all.

Palpatine is ready to set his ultimate trap.  

The Emperor's shuttle touches down. Vader sees his new Master emerge followed by his blood red adorned Imperial Royal Guards. The last lingering remnant of Anakin Skywalker exclaims that Padme needs treatment or she'll die. But the Emperor tells him that with the Jedi and Separatists vanquished, he no longer needs Vader or Padme. Palpatine's deadly guards surround Vader.

Anakin is horrified at one more betrayal. He realizes he truly is alone.  

The guards attack, but Vader beats them all. Palpatine unleashes his Dark Force Lightning on his apprentice, but Vader's control of The Force is too strong...he blocks it with his hand and it surrounds him like an unholy aura.

Vader reaches out and, with all his fear, hatred and anger channeled into his full command of The Force, he throttles the heart of the despot, crushing it into a pulp. He watches the life disappear from the eyes of his former mentor as the decrepit corpse slumps to ground.

But a violent blue energy surge begins erupting from the lifeless husk that was Sheev Palpatine which lurches forward and Anakin tries, once again to block this energy. But in an instant, when it is too late to save himself, the pure ancient Dark Force presence penetrates his body and extinguishes all that once was Anakin Skywalker and all that once was Darth Vader. He had underestimated the Power of the Dark Side of The Force.

As Sheev, now residing comfortably in his new young, strong body with no one in the Galaxy to oppose him, he walks past the dying bodies of Anakin's wife and children. He waves his hand and sniffs out their sparks in an instant. He quietly laughs as he returns to his shuttle. His shuttle lifts off to return to his Throne at the bright center of the universe, successful in continuing the ancient Eternal Sith Empire for another evil generation of control of The Galaxy.
